Congratulations, you survived Monday’s whirlwind singing of all of our Messiah choruses, except the opening and middle sections of “Worthy is the Lamb”
Please note the updated rehearsal schedule which indicates which choruses we will rehearse each week.
These are the choruses to focus on:
And He Shall Purify
All We Like Sheep
He Trusted in God
But Thanks Be to God
Their Sound is Gone Out- I have cut this chorus.
Also, here is another EXCELLENT rehearsal resource. Many thanks to Henry Pope for sharing. Follow his directions closely and you will not have to pay.
This link is to the ChordPerfect website. It has voice recording by parts of the choruses for both Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem. Parts other than the featured part are sung softer in the background underlaid by the instrumental accompaniment. The recordings can be slowed down or played at full tempo.
On the main webpage, select “Composers” / then select “Handel” / next “Messiah” / then choose the desired Choral Rehearsal Aid.
The same steps can be followed for Mozart’s Requiem.
if you don’t download anything, you don’t have to pay.
Bookmark your selected rehearsal aid page so you can return to it without going through the steps to get there.
Remember, we do NOT rehearse this Monday, Oct. 30.
You are invited to a free concert at Grace Presbyterian Church
The Academy of St. Martin in the Field Chamber Ensemble- this is a world-renowned organization.
7:00 PM
No tickets but donations are accepted.
The updated rehearsal schedule is attached.
